Medak Church
Medak Church is 173 feet high. The length &
width of the Cathedral is 200 ft and 100 ft. The tiles used for building
the Church were brought from Italy. The roof of the church is sound
proof & is constructed using sponge material. A birth window depicts
the birth scene of Jesus, angels, Prophet or Issaiah, Mary and astrologers.
To the left side the crucification scene is painted, in the center the
coming of Jesus is painted. The capacity of the church is 5000 people
at a time. The stained glass is visible only in solar light. |

Medak Fort The
Medak fort, originally called Methuku durgam derives its name from the
Telugu word "Methuku" meaning cooked rice. Originally it was
built in typical Hindu style during the reign of the Kakatiyas. It is
essentially a dry masonry wall. The fort has wide ramparts with several
natural bastions carved out of the boulders and rocks on the hillock. |

Nacharam Temple There are many legends centred around the local temples. The important one is that when Narasimha swamy killed the asura no one was able to pacify Him. So Lakshmi Devi came to this place and on seeing her Narasimha regained His original form of Vishnu.
