The Gardens is one of the loveliest not only in India but the best among the public gardens throughout the East. There are more than 2000 species representing 117 natural odours which are of immense value to botany buffs. In the center of the Gardens just below the mini-lake there is a fossil tree trunk. |

Doddabetta,
the name literally means Big Mountain. The hieght of the Peak is 8640
feet M.S.L. The road to Doddabetta is motorable. |

The artificial lake was constructed in 1824. The lake garden and toy train rides are other attractions of the place. In the adjacent site there is a recently created deer park.

Mukurthi Peak is about 40km from Ooty. The Mukurthi National Park is located on the South Eastern corner of the Nilgiris Plateau. The Kollarbetta and the Nilgiri Peak are other major peaks around. The area is chained by innumerable beautiful and perennial little streams which fall into Bhavani River.

Pykara
has well protected, fenced sholar, Toda settlements, undisturbed grassy
meadows and also a good wildlife habitat. The Pykara Dam and the reservoir
attract many tourists.
