Nagarjuna Sagar Dam This Dam is named after the Buddhist Philosopher Acharya Nagarjuna who propounded the Madhyamika school of Mahayana Buddhism, This dam across river Krishna is one of the earliest hydro-electric projects of India. Nagarjunasagar- the tallest masonry dam in the world scaling 124 meter offers the tourist a unique blend of antiquity and modernity.

Nagarjuna konda Mesum The
island museum is the outcome of an architectural marvel comparable with
the world famous preservation scheme for preserving the monuments of
Abu symbol near Aswan dam in UAE. The finds of Nagarjuna valley are
housed in a museum specially designed in the model of Buddhist Vihara.
The museum presents relics from the excavations of all phases of Nagarjuna
Konda from its inception. They represent the pre-historic, proto historic
phases of the whole region. |

Ethipothala Water Falls It is a mountain stream cascading down the hills from a height of 22 metres. The Ethipothala waterfalls are a radiant sight of the power and beauty of nature. The dazzling lagoon formed by the falls has a crocodile-breeding centre. This waterfall is a combination of three streams namely 1.Chandravanka vagu 2. Nakkala vagu 3.Tummala vagu. After flowing for 3 km, this stream joins with the river Krishna. Ranganadha and Dattatreya temples are found near the waterfalls. People believe that the caves near the waterfalls go to Srisailam.

Anupu Anupu is called Simhagiri (the lion hill). Here a visitor will find Buddhist buildings like the Maha Vihara and Amphitheatre etc. These are meticulously reconstructed from original excavations. |
