Ananda Budha Vihara

This Vihara was established in 1974, and aims to preserve the Buddhist Culture .The trust plans to construct a temple vihara, a cultural centre, a hospital, a school and a meditation centre. Daily prayers, mediatation and Dharma discovers take place here.

Birla Mandir Overlooking the Tank Bund, the Birla Mandir presents an arresting sight when illuminated in the evening. This magnificent structure built entirely out of marble from Rajasthan, stands atop the Kala Pahad, the twin hillock of the Naubat Pahad. Built by Birla Foundation over a span of ten years, the main temple is dedicated to Lord Venkatehwara.

Meca Masjid This mosque is one of the largest in India and can accommodate ten thousand people at a time. The five arched facades of the mosque lead into a huge hallway that has the prayer niche on the Western side. This was carved out of a single piece of granite, which took five years to dig and 1400 oxen to transport. The large courtyard holds a cistern at one end, flanked by two stone slab seats.

Chowmohalla Palace The royal palaces of Chowmohalla lie to the south west of Charminar. Chowmohalla means four palaces and is the name given to a complex of four palaces built mostly during the period of Nawab Aftab-Ud-Doula, Nizam (1857-69 AD). The palaces are named, Aftab Mahal, Mahtab Mahal and Tahniyat Mahal. Chowmohalla is a copy of the shah’s palace at Teheran, although finer in architectural construction.

Purani Haveli The Purani Haveli's main building is reminiscent of the 18th Century European architecture. Although the buildings in the complex were constructed in the second half of the 19th Century during the reign of the sixth Nizam, Nawab Mir Mahboob Ali Khan Bahadur, the seventh Nizam, Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan Bahadur added the auxiliary buildings with spacious court yards.

King Kothi Palace King Kothi Palace  was the main residence of the last Nizam, Mir Osman Ali Khan. The palace contains several buildings, in two groups. The main entrance to Nazri Bagh always has a curtain draped across it, so it is known as the ‘purdah’ gate. Osman Ali Khan lived in Nazri Bagh until his death.

The Statue of Lord Budha The Buddhist statue has been placed on the rock of Gibraltar in the placid waters of the Hussain Sagar. It is the tallest standing monolith of 72 feet. The monolithic statue was chiselled out of a white granite rock, weighting 450 tons.It was carved by 200 sculptors for two years.
